World Teachers' Day

World Teachers' Day was inaugurated by UNESCO in 1994 to focus attention on the extraordinary contributions and achievements of teachers. In Australia, World Teachers' Day is held on the last Friday in October (this year it is going to be Friday 31 October). This is the day on which the community pays tribute to the thousands of teachers who work in government, Catholic and independent schools across Australia.
